Job title: Lead Cost Estimator (CSA or MEP)

Responsibilities (but not limited to): Under general direction, you perform professional senior level technical expertise in preparing total construction cost estimates at different stages of project design, from preliminary through final design document development; ensures the full integration of scope, schedule, costs, risk, and resources. Furthermore you establish budgets and engineer estimates for construction of large-scale transit projects. It is your responsbility to perform cost impact analysis related to the project/contract potential and/or directed change orders. You are able to monitor construction management (CM) and construction contractor progress and cost changes to ensure projects adhere to project control policies and procedures and are completed on time and within budget.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, mechanical/piping or closely related field; additionally an AACE (International Association of Cost Estimators) diploma is considered an asset
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a technical project organization in construction cost estimating on major projects that includes risk assessment, project control, and cost database development and reporting. Proven experience to negotiate, delegate and plan
Required knowledge of:
· Proven experience in concept screening, feasibility, budget authorization, control cost estimates based on e.g. factor estimating, parametric models and other sophisticated estimating methods.
· Experience in cost estimating methods including labor productivity factors, work processes, equipment types/usage, scheduling of work activities, judgment related to incidental cost impacts, owner/general contractor/subcontractor and contract relationships.
· Allowances and indirect costs applied Monte Carlo analysis & contingency calculations.
· Advanced construction cost estimating principles
· Computer and project controls/project management and estimating software skills
· Modern office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and statistical databases
· Good English both in writing and speaking;
